EMC lab at ICAT is state-of-the-art facility which can cater to the automotive as well as non –automotive requirements. There are 02 anechoic chambers with adequate instrumentation to support the EMC requirements of automotive OEMs and suppliers. The non-automotive requirements include medical equipments, industrial electronics, consumer electronics, wireless devices etc. Additionally the lab is also equipped to test/certify RFID tags & readers, ITS devices, ADAS, SLD, VAS, HVAC systems etc.

Detailed Facility Update


  • Component Semi – Anechoic Chamber (CSAC) and Vehicle Semi – Anechoic Chamber (VSAC).
  • Capability upto 8 GHz for RE & 18 GHz for RI.
  • Overall Dimensions of CSAC: 8.5 m X 7 m X 6 m (L X W X H).
  • Overall Dimensions of VSAC: 30 m X 20 m X 10 m (L X W X H).
  • Both chambers have dedicated shielded control rooms with advanced instrumentation.
  • VSAC has a 11 m turntable, 4X4 chassis dynamometer with advanced electronic control system functions, for a vehicle up to 19 tons.
  • Maximum achievable speed on chassis dynamometer – 120 kmph
